Ingredients:
1 lb steak, thinly sliced

1 tsp garlic salt

1/2 tsp ground black pepper

1 green bell pepper, sliced

1 onion, sliced

8-10 slices White American cheese

20 oz bag McCain Quick Cook Waffle Cut Fries

1 tbsp olive oil

Step 1:

Preheat the oven to 425°F (220°C).

Step 2:

Heat an oven-safe skillet over medium-high heat.

Add 1 tablespoon of olive oil to the skillet.

Add the thinly sliced steak to the skillet and sprinkle with garlic salt and black pepper. Stir to coat.

Fry the steak until browned on all sides.

Remove the steak from the skillet and set it aside.

Remove the vegetables from the skillet and set them aside.

Step 4:

Remove the skillet from heat.

Add a layer of McCain Quick Cook Waffle Cut Fries to the skillet.

Place 4 slices of White American cheese on top of the fries, followed by a layer of the cooked steak and vegetables.

Repeat the layers with the remaining fries, steak, vegetables, and cheese.

Step 5:

Place the oven-safe skillet in the preheated oven and bake for 8-10 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.

Step 6:

Remove from the oven, allow to cool slightly, and serve hot.

Notes:
Saving Energy: Baking in an oven-safe skillet saves you from using multiple pans, and using pre-cooked frozen fries helps reduce overall cooking time.

Health Benefits: While this dish is indulgent with the steak, cheese, and fries, it does provide protein from the steak and a small amount of fiber from the vegetables. You can make it a little lighter by using lower-fat cheese or swapping the fries for a healthier baked potato option. Enjoy in moderation!
