These Glazed Donut Muffins combine the soft, fluffy texture of muffins with the irresistible taste of donuts. Topped with a sweet, sticky glaze, they make the perfect breakfast treat or afternoon snack. With a light and airy crumb, a hint of cinnamon, and the added sweetness of the glaze, these muffins are sure to satisfy any craving!
Ingredients:
For the Muffins:

2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour

1 teaspoon ground cinnamon

1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg

3/4 cup granulated sugar

2 large eggs

1/2 cup whole milk

1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

1/4 cup plain yogurt or sour cream (for extra moistness)
For the Glaze:

1 cup powdered sugar

2 tablespoons whole milk (or more to adjust consistency)

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

1 tablespoon unsalted butter, melted

A pinch of salt
Instructions:
1. Preheat the Oven:

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a muffin tin or line it with paper muffin cups and set it aside.
2. Prepare the Muffin Batter:

In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, salt, ground cinnamon, and ground nutmeg until well combined.

In a separate bowl, beat together the sugar and eggs until smooth and slightly pale.

Add the milk, melted butter, vanilla extract, and yogurt (or sour cream) to the egg mixture, stirring until fully combined.

Gradually add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients, folding the mixture together gently with a spatula. Mix until just combined—be careful not to overmix.
3. Fill the Muffin Tin:

Divide the muffin batter evenly between the muffin cups, filling each cup about 2/3 full. You should get about 12 muffins, depending on the size of your muffin tin.
4. Bake the Muffins:

Bake the muffins for 18-20 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center of a muffin comes out clean or with a few moist crumbs.

Once done, remove the muffins from the oven and allow them to cool in the tin for 5 minutes. Then, transfer them to a wire rack to cool completely.

While the muffins are cooling, make the glaze by combining the powdered sugar, milk, vanilla extract, melted butter, and a pinch of salt in a small bowl. Stir until smooth and glossy. If the glaze is too thick, add a little more milk, one teaspoon at a time, until it reaches a pourable consistency.
6. Glaze the Muffins:

Once the muffins have cooled slightly (or completely if you prefer), dip the tops of each muffin into the glaze, letting any excess drip off.

Allow the glaze to set for a few minutes before serving, or for a thicker coating, let the glaze harden for 10-15 minutes.
