Ingredients:
1 large cabbage, chopped
2 small onions, diced
2 cans of stewed tomatoes
1 pouch Lipton Onion Soup Mix (any flavor)
1 large celery stalk, chopped finely
1-2 pounds ground beef (optional, for added protein)
Instructions:
Step 1:
In a large saucepan, fill it halfway with water and bring it to a boil.
Step 2:
Add the chopped cabbage, onions, celery, and stewed tomatoes to the boiling water.
Reduce the heat to a simmer and let it cook for 10-15 minutes, or until the vegetables are tender.
Step 3:
While the vegetables are cooking, cook the ground beef in a separate pan over medium heat. Drain any excess fat and set aside.
Step 4:
Stir in the Lipton Onion Soup Mix and any additional spices you prefer (garlic, pepper, thyme, etc.) into the soup.
Step 5:
Add the cooked ground beef to the soup and let everything simmer together for another 5-10 minutes, stirring occasionally.
Step 6:
Taste the soup, adjust the seasoning if needed, and serve hot!
Notes:
Healthier Option: To make the soup even healthier, use lean ground turkey or chicken instead of beef, or skip the meat entirely for a vegetarian version.
Freezer-Friendly: This soup stores well in the fridge for a few days and can also be frozen for later use. Just let it cool before transferring it to a container for freezing.
