Crack Burgers Recipe

Burger Patties:
- 500g (1.1 lbs) ground beef (80/20 for juiciness)
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
- 1/2 teaspoon smoked paprika (optional)
- 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
- 1 egg yolk (for binding)
Crack Burger Sauce:
- 1/2 cup mayonnaise
- 2 tablespoons BBQ sauce
- 1 tablespoon ketchup
- 1 teaspoon apple cider vinegar
- 1 teaspoon honey
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
Toppings & Buns:
- 4 brioche burger buns
- 4 slices cheddar cheese
- 1 red onion, thinly sliced
- 1 tomato, sliced
- 4 romaine or iceberg lettuce leaves
- 2 tablespoons unsalted butter (for toasting buns)
Instructions
Step 1: Prepare the Burger Patties
- In a large mixing bowl, combine ground beef with salt, pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, Worcestershire sauce, and egg yolk.
- Gently mix without overworking the meat to keep it tender.
- Divide into 4 equal portions, shape into patties about 1.5 cm thick.
Step 2: Make Crack Burger Sauce
- In a small bowl, mix together mayonnaise, BBQ sauce, ketchup, apple cider vinegar, honey, garlic powder, onion powder, and black pepper.
- Stir well and refrigerate for at least 15 minutes to blend flavors.
Step 3: Toast the Burger Buns
- Heat a skillet or griddle over medium heat.
- Spread a little butter on the inside of each bun and toast for 1-2 minutes until golden brown.
Step 4: Cook the Burger Patties
- Heat a cast-iron skillet or grill over high heat.
- Place patties on the hot surface and sear for 3-4 minutes per side without pressing them down.
- In the last minute of cooking, place a slice of cheddar cheese on top of each patty and cover to melt.
Step 5: Assemble the Burgers
- Spread Crack Burger Sauce on both sides of the bun.
- Place lettuce on the bottom bun, followed by the cheesy beef patty.
- Add sliced tomato and red onion rings.
- Cover with the top bun and gently press everything together.
- Serve immediately and enjoy!
