Canned Biscuit Sugar Donuts

Ingredients:
- 1 can of biscuit dough (usually 8 biscuits)
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1 tsp ground cinnamon (optional)
- 1/4 cup butter (melted)
- Vegetable oil (for frying)
Instructions:
-
Prepare the donuts:
- Open the can of biscuit dough and separate the biscuits.
- Use a small round cutter or a bottle cap to cut a hole in the center of each biscuit to form the donut shape. You can also just cut them in half for mini donuts.
-
Heat the oil:
- Heat about 2 inches of vegetable oil in a deep frying pan or pot over medium heat. The oil is ready when a small piece of dough dropped into it sizzles.
-
Fry the donuts:
- Carefully place the dough pieces into the hot oil, frying them in batches. Fry each donut for about 1-2 minutes on each side until golden brown.
- Once fried, use tongs to remove them and place them on a paper towel to drain any excess oil.
-
Coat with sugar:
- In a small bowl, mix the granulated sugar and ground cinnamon (if using).
- While the donuts are still warm, dip them into the sugar mixture, coating them evenly.
-
Serve and enjoy:
- Serve immediately for a warm, sweet treat! Optionally, you can drizzle with chocolate or glaze for extra sweetness.
